GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University Athletic Department has announced numerous schedule changes to upcoming events in a variety of sports.
The list of changes and updates by sport can be found below.
Women's Tennis
The start time of the Mavericks' home match against MSU Denver on Friday has been pushed back 30 minutes to 1:30 p.m. The men's match against the Roadrunners will still start at 1 p.m. at the Elliott Tennis Center.
Both Maverick teams are also home on Saturday. Both will play Colorado College at 2:30 p.m. with Senior Day festivities occurring prior to warm-ups at 1:15 p.m. The CMU women will also take on CSU Pueblo at 9:30 a.m., Saturday as well.
Men's Soccer
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match against Regis which was scheduled to be played on Apr. 1 in Denver has been re-scheduled for this Saturday (Apr. 17) and moved to Grand Junction and CMU's Maverick Field. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m., pending COVID-19 protocols. The match will be a de-facto Division B Championship match and will have major impacts on the seeding and hosting rights for next week's RMAC Tournament.
Women's Soccer
The regular season, non-conference game at Fort Lewis, which had been slated to be played this Friday (Apr. 16), after a weather-related postponement from Mar. 26 has now been canceled by mutual agreement as the teams are likely to meet in the opening round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday (Apr. 23). The RMAC will release the official tournament bracket this Friday.
Women's Lacrosse
The make-up game against Regis, originally due to be played on Apr. 9, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 28 at 3 p.m. on Maverick Field.
Men's Lacrosse
The regular-season home game against Westminster is now scheduled for Friday, April 30 at 6 p.m. at Maverick Field. The Mavericks, who have yet to play at home this season, will play their final four regular season games at home, beginning this Friday at 7 p.m. against Colorado College.
Track & Field
The Mavericks will no longer be competing at the Colorado School of Mines' Kit Mayer Invite in Golden. That meet was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but has since been shifted to a Sunday only meet due to weather forecasts.
Instead, the Mavericks will now remain at home to host the Maverick Sun Classic at the new on-campus track & field complex. The small meet will be the third home meet in four weekends. Registration is now open on

Beach Volleyball
The Mavericks have added a home doubleheader against Trinidad State Junior College to the schedule. The Mavs, who are competing at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships in Florida this weekend, and Spartans will play each other at 11 a..m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 24 on the CMU Beach Courts.
