COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— McKenna Molder won the 400 meters and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team to victory while freshman
Josie Coffey matcher her own school-record in the high jump to lead the Colorado Mesa University women's indoor track and field team to a strong second place team finish at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Open, which wrapped up on Saturday afternoon here the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse.
The Mavericks also had four other second place finishes on Saturday and five in the meet as they scored 122 team points, second only to the hosts, ranked ninth nationally, who tallied 263 to easily win the meet. The Mavericks were well clear of Western Colorado (83), Division I Air Force (77), Colorado Christian (28), Westminster (13) and Southwest Baptist (11).
Molder, who continues to the lead the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference performers list, won the 400 meters for the second straight meet in a time of 57.56 seconds leading a 1-2-5-7 Maverick point scoring haul. School-record holder
Jill Payne was second in 57.89 seconds and now ranks second behind Molder in the RMAC with a track-size and altitude-adjusted mark of 57.35.
Jade Wimmer was fifth in 59.76 becoming just the ninth CMU woman to go sub-60 indoors.
Jordyn Pittman was seventh in 1:00.48.
Meanwhile, Molder anchored the relay team, which also included
Rachel Crutcher,
Sierra Arceneaux and Wimmer to a win in in 3:58.55, the fifth fastest time in program history.
In the high jump, Coffey cleared 1.72 meters (5 feet, 7 ¾ inches) to match her school-record set eight days earlier at the Western Slope Challenge. She finished second overall but was the top team-scoring finisher and scored 10 points. Teammates

Mica Jenrette, who set a provisional qualifying and RMAC-leading mark in the pentathlon on Friday, both cleared 1.57 meters (5-1.75) to place sixth and seventh, respectively.
Other highlights of the Mavericks' day included:
- Crutcher finished second in the 60-meter finals with a time of 7.78 seconds.
- Shaya Chenoweth (7.98) and Haley Golden (8.07) also scored in that event with sixth and seventh place finishes.
- Freshman Kira MacGill took second in the mile with a time of 5:15.25, improving her No. 3 position on the Mavericks' all-time top-10 performers list.
- Molder also placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.18 seconds. Averie Griffith was sixth in 9.52 seconds.
- Sydney Trichler took sixth in the 800 meters with a mark of 2:21.39, which gives her the No. 4 spot in Maverick history.
- Kiana Jackson placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.62 meters (38-1.5) and now sits fourth on the RMAC season-long performance list.
- Meleeah Holmes-McKown also took fourth in the shot put with a best of 11.01 meters (36-1.5).

The Mavericks do not have a meet officially scheduled for next weekend but may send some athletes to a meet or meets to try to set qualifying marks for the RMAC and NCAA Division II Championships.
