2021 Outdoor (Redshirt Junior): Ran on the Mavs’ 4x100-meter relay at the Maverick Open to begin the season before missing the rest of the year due to injury… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
 
2021 Indoor (Redshirt Senior): Competed in four meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II National Championships… Was part of history becoming one of the first women in CMU history (all-sports) to win a NCAA Division II Championship as the lead-off leg on CMU’s winning 4x400-meter relay team at the national championships in Birmingham, Alabama… Helped the Mavericks smash the school record with a time of 3:47.09… Had helped the Mavericks qualify for the national meet with a RMAC title winning and then school-record time of 3:52.62 at the conference meet two weeks earlier… Also finished third in the 400-meter individual event… Was ranked third on the RMAC season-long performance list with a converted time of 57.35... Had posted a season best time of 57.89 at the CRC UCCS Open… Ran the 60 meters at the Western Slope Challenge, posting a season-best time of 7.97 seconds in the preliminaries… Also helped the Mavs win the 4x400-meter relay at that meet… Earned First Team USTFCCCA All-America honors in the 4x400-meter relay… Was a USTFCCCA All-Region pick in both the 400 meters and 4x400-meter relay… Also earned First Team All-RMAC accolades in both… Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2020 Outdoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019-20 Indoor (Senior): Redshirt season.

2019 Outdoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Competed in seven meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II Championships... Helped the Mavs qualify for and finish 11th in the 4x100-meter relay at the NCAA Division II Championships... The squad set a school-record time of 45.84 seconds at the Oxy Invitational (May 11) to become the first Maverick relay team to qualify for a NCAA Championship meet... Helped the Mavs win the RMAC title in that event with a time of 46.74... Earned three total and a pair of First Team All-RMAC plaudits for her efforts at the conference meet... Finished second in the 400 meters and fourth in the 200 meters... Also anchored the Mavs to a fifth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with the seventh fastest time in program-history (3:58.70)... Would go on to equal the 400-meter school-record with a time of 55.96 at the Oxy Invitational... Was ranked fourth in the RMAC and 50th nationally with that NCAA provisional qualifying time... Had won the 200 at the Mines Kit Mayer Invite in 24.58 seconds to stand third in program history... Was ranked fifth in the RMAC with that altitude-adjusted effort (24.65).. Had a career-best time of 12.36 seconds in the 100 at the season-starting Fum McGraw Open (Mar. 23)... Sits eighth in program history in that discipline... Helped CMU win four relay events throughout the season... Was a part of four of the CMU's all-time top 10 fastest 4x100 quartets, including three of the top four... Anchored the Mavs to a winning 4x400m relay time of 3:54.04 at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open, fifth fastest in program history... Also won the 400 at that meet... RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection for fourth straight campaign... Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

2018-19 Indoor (Junior): Competed in six meets, including the RMAC Championships... Earned a pair of All-RMAC honors there, placing third in the 400 meters to garner first team accolades... Finished fifth in the 200 to earn second team plaudits... Set season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying times in both events at the conference meet... Also earned a bronze medal as the anchor leg of the the Mavs' third place 4x400-meter relay... Named as RMAC Track Athlete of the Week on Dec. 3, 2018 after breaking the school-record to win the 400 meters at the Western Colorado Open. (Dec. 1).. Also helped the Mavs win the 4x400-meter relay while running a personal-best time of 7.80 seconds in the 60 meters... Ranks sixth in program history with that time... Would break her own school-record in the 400 with a time of 56.24 seconds at the RMAC Championships... Also ran an indoor PR of 25.00 seconds in the prelims of the 200 at the conference meet to rank fourth in program history... Anchored CMU to a then school-record time of 3:55.75 in the 4x400-meter relay at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invite (Dec. 8) and was a member of four of the top five and four of the top 10 fastest relay teams in program history throughout the season... RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll... Was ranked third in the RMAC and 25th nationally on the final performers list with her adjusted time of 55.72 in the 400... Was sixth in the RMAC and 40th nationally in the 200 at 24.76 (adjusted)... RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2018 Outdoor (Redshirt Freshman): RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll... Competed in four events, including the RMAC Championships... Made the finals in both the 200 and 400 meters, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively... Also ran on the Mavericks' third place 4x100-meter and sixth place 4x400-meter relay teams at the conference meet... Ran a season-best 200-meter time of 25.22 in the prelims... Had a season-best 400-meter time of 57.88 at the Mines Nature's Bakery Invite to open the campaign... Won both the 400 and 4x400-meter relays at the Western/GHS Combined Invitational.
 
2017-18 Indoor (Sophomore): RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection... Competed in five meets... Qualified for the RMAC Championships in both the 200 and 400 meters as well as in the 4X400-meter relay... Took seventh in the 400 after running a season-best time of 59.51 in the preliminary heats... Took 13th in the 200... Had a run a season-best time of 25.56 at the Colorado Invitational... Had won the 200 at the Western Alumni Open... Helped the Mavericks finish seventh in the 4X400 relay at the conference meet.

2017 Outdoor (Freshman): Redshirt season.

2016-17 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in three meets... Won the 200 meters at the Western State Open in 25.88 seconds... Had run the 60 at the Mines Alumni Classic in 7.94... Also competed in the 4X400 at both meets helping the Mavs to a pair of third place finishes.

Prep: Was a 3-time all-state and first-team all-conference sprinter for the Grand Junction HS Tigers... Set the school-record in the 100, 200 and 400... Finished eighth in the 400 at the 2016 5A State Championships as a senior after taking seventh in both the 200 and 400 as a junior in 2015... Was a 4-time academic all-state selection in track and field and basketball... Coaches were Darrell Simonton and Sam Provenza.

Personal: Is majoring in nursing with aspirations of working in a hospital as an RN... Daughter of Dave and Jody Payne... Brother is Clay... Enjoys sports in general, hunting, fishing, being a huge Denver Broncos fan and being with family and friends.

Why I Chose CMU: "I chose CMU because of the opportunities the track and field program gave me and the fact that CMU is in my hometown."
