CHADRON, Neb. – The Colorado Mesa men's wrestling team continued its winning ways on Thursday evening with a 34-12 win over the Chadron State Eagles in the Chicoine Center in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference bout.
The Mavericks (4-2, 2-0 RMAC) won seven of the the ten bouts including the final four bouts by pin. The dual after beginning at 285 pounds after Chadron State (0-2, 0-1 RMAC) won the toss and elected to start with the big boys.
Fred Green started the run at 165 pounds as he pinned the No. 11 ranked wrestler at 157 pounds Tate Allison. Green worked his way to a 6-0 lead before sending Allison to his back and earning the pin at the 4:58 mark of the match.
Seth Latham followed with a pin of Rowdy Pfeil of Chadron State at the 6:27 mark of the match at 174 pounds. Latham and Pfeil were close in score before Latham turned Pfeil to his back late in the third period.

Nolan Krone picked up a quick first period pin at the 1:42 mark at 184 pounds before
Donnie Negus closed out the pin streak at 197 pounds with a fall at the 3:54 mark in the second period.
Cian Apple and
Collin Metzgar won the first two matches for the Mavericks at 125 and 133 pounds respectively. Apple was a 7-0 winner over Tate Stoddard while Metzgar was a 7-3 winner over Joseph Taylor.
Daniel Magaña earned a major decision victory over Joseph Ritzen at 141 pounds, 14-3. The score in the bout was close throughout but Magaña earned three four-point nearfalls in the third period to extend out to the big lead.
Colorado Mesa will matchup with No. 16 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 1pm in Golden. The Orediggers are 1-0 on the season and were selected as the favorite to win the RMAC Championship.
