DENVER— Sophomore all-American
Noah Macomber set another NCAA qualifying score, his ninth such of the season, on the 3-meter diving board and was one of four Maverick winners for the Colorado Mesa University men's swimming and diving team in a Friday dual against the Division I University of Denver Pioneers here at the El Pomar Natatorium.

The Mavericks also received a diving win from
Sage D'Ambrosia in the 1-meter event, and swimming victories from
Morgan Bean and
Sam Bryant in the 100-yard butterfly and breaststroke, respectively.

DU won the dual by a score of 150 ½- 92 ½.
Â
The Maverick women did not win any individual events but did tally nine runner-up finishes and eight other third place finishes in a strong overall effort. The Pioneers won the dual, 155-84.

Macomber, who had previously booked a trip for the March NCAA Division II National Championship diving qualifier at the A3/CMU Invitational in December, tallied 302.25 points on his six 3-meter dives while D'Ambrosia finished second with 284.70 points.

Earlier, D'Ambrosia had won the 1-meter with 283.20 points besting teammate
Sabin Venable (266.40) in a 1-2 Maverick sweep. Macomber took fourth on the 1-meter with 216.23 points.

Bean won the 100 fly in 51.58 seconds while
Justin Fell touched third in 52.53.

Meanwhile, Bryant clocked a time of 1:00.35 in the 100 breast while teammate
Aidan Mercer was third just 0.35 seconds slower (1:00.70).

Bryant also took second in the 400 individual medley, touching in 4:11.95.

Jason Hicks also turned in a runner-up finish, clocking a time of 47.83 in the 100 free.
Â
Freshman
Grace Payton finished second in two individual events to lead the Maverick women, completing the 400 IM in 4:44.10 and the 100 back in 59.06.Â

Brittany Dixon also claimed a pair of runner-up finishes on the diving boards turning in scores of 226.35 in the 1-meter event and 243.83 points on the 3-meter board.

Meanwhile,
Candice Rosen was third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:58.09 and also finished third in the 100 fly with a time of 59.94, just behind teammate
Danielle Jefferies, who touched second in 58.73 seconds.

Megan Sirijariyavat was second in the 50 free with a time of 24.57 while
Samantha White was just behind in third (25.07). White also took third in the 100 breast (1:07.85) while
Kennedy Bright was second in 1:07.72.

Meanwhile,
Sierra Forbord and Sirijariyavat went 2-3 in the 100 free with times of 53.29 and 54.31, respectively.Â

Isabelle Hansson took third in the 1000 free with a time of 11:00.78.

Celine Sargis was third in the 100 back (1:00.10) while Forbord,
Maddie McClain,
Maddie Pressler and
Natalie Saul finished the 200 free relay in 1:39.65. The Mavericks' "B" team of Jefferies,
Noel Scott, Bright and White was third in 1:40.64.

The Mavericks will now travel to Colorado Springs to compete against eight other teams in the first day of the Colorado College Classic on Saturday. The preliminary session begins at 10 a.m. with finals slated to commence at 5 p.m. Diving events will be held in-between, starting at 12:30 p.m.

CMU will not contest the second day events at that meet.
