AMARILLO, Texas – The Colorado Mesa men's golf team competed at the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational, hosted by West Texas A&M.
Colorado Mesa placed 12
th as a team but were within five strokes of placing in the top ten of the 18 team field. The Mavericks (878) were just two shots behind Western New Mexico and three shots behind Texas A&M-International.
St. Mary's won the overall team title with a 27-under, 837 for the three round tournament.
Junior
Grant Olinger was the Mavericks top golfer with a 2-under, 214, good enough for a tie for 21
st place. The Arvada native played steady as he opened the tournament with a 1-under, 71 and finished day one with a 1-over, 73. He saved his best for the final round with a 2-under, 70.

Brett Krantz and sophomore
Trey Lambrecht each shot a 4-over, 220.
The Mavericks will be off for a couple weeks and will return with the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate on October 2.
