Colorado Mesa men's tennis team won their third consecutive dual match beating visiting Hope International (CA) 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon in its first home match this spring.
The Mavericks took 2 of 3 doubles matches winning at number 1 and 2 doubles for the 2-1 lead heading in to singles play.
Jordan Lyden and
Andres Hernandez (#1) closed out Hope's number 1 team of Tulio Amaral and John Owens 8-5.
Brason Hollabaugh and
Jonathan Casson defeated their #2 doubles opponents, Ivan Rashkov and Thiago Brito 8-3. Hope International picked up one dual point with a victory at number 3 doubles.
CMU took 4 of the 6 singles matches for the 6-3 team victory. Lyden (#2) and
Sterling Inouye (#6) defeated their opponents in straight sets, Lyden posting a 6-3, 6-2 win over Rashkov and Inouye winning 6-0, 6-1 over Joshua Feichter.

Andres Hernandez stormed back after dropping the first set to close out a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 won over Owens.
John Hendrickson (#5) held off his opponent winning a third set super-tiebreak, 6-2, 3-6, 10-6.
CMU will host RMAC foe Metro State College next Thursday at 3:30 pm. The men will play four matches next week beginning with Metro on Thursday. CSU-Pueblo will take on CMU on Friday morning at 9:30 am. On Saturday the Mavs will host Augustana (S.D.) at 9:30 am and play Sonoma State at 9 am on Sunday morning.
