Mavericks earn spot on WBCA Academic Top-25 list

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Mesa women's basketball has been named to the 2025-26 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced. The Mavericks rank No. 7 among NCAA Division II programs nationally with a cumulative team GPA of 3.797.

Colorado Mesa is the only team from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to earn a spot on this year's Division II list and is one of just two NCAA South Central Region schools recognized, joining Lubbock Christian (No. 11).

The WBCA Academic Top 25 honors college women's basketball programs with the highest combined GPAs across their entire roster, requiring a team mark of at least 3.0. This is the 31st year the WBCA has compiled the honor roll.

The academic honor caps a standout year for the Mavericks on the court as well, as Colorado Mesa reached the NCAA Division II Championship semifinals during the 2025-26 season.

Colorado Mesa joins Mercy University, Florida Southern and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) among the top-ranked Division II programs, with Mercy topping the division at a 3.853 GPA.
