The Mavericks claimed an 18-6 home win over Westminster last Friday (Apr. 3), handing the Griffins their only conference loss. The Mavericks dominated the second half, out-scoring the visitors, 11-2 in the second half.
Courtney Havel scored a season-high five goals while
Devon Morris added four goals and four assists.
At the other end of the field,
Heather Hawkins made 13 saves.
Two days earlier on Apr. 1,
the Mavs played against No. 18 Regis, falling 10-5. Hawkins made ten saves in that game while Morris scored four of the Mavs' five goals with Havel adding the other.
Third honor for third century keeper
Maverick sophomore goalkeeper
Heather Hawkins was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after recording 23 saves in the Mavs' two games last weekend.
The honor was the third of the Palmer Lake, Colorado native's career and the first for any Maverick this season.
Her 13 saves against Westminster matched a season-high and pushed her over the 100 save mark for the season (108). That total is already the eighth highest single-season total in program history and makes her just the third Maverick to ever record more than 100 saves in back-to-back seasons.
Hawkins made 133 saves last year en-route to RMAC Goalkeeper and Freshman of the Year honors.
Lauren Wells set the program record for saves in a season with 156 in the Mavs' debut season of 2011 before recording 137 the year after.
Shannon Murphy made 117 in 2023 and 134 in 2024 before Hawkins earned the starting nod from Murphy early in 2025.

Morris is second on this year's Maverick squad with 20 goals after scoring ten combined goals in her first three seasons.
The Davis, California native also had four assists in last Friday's win over Westminster while finishing the game with a career-high eight points, just one shy of the Maverick single-game record of nine, jointly held by five different players.

The Mavs have gone 11-6 in both of Delaney's previous years as a head coach and posted a 33-19 combined record in her four years as an assistant under two previous head coaches.
She was named as the RMAC Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading the Mavs to a share of the RMAC Regular Season Championship and to hosting rights of the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history.
