Reed Thyne, Wagner lead Mavericks on All-RMAC Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released their all-conference teams on Thursday (Mar. 5) on the day before the conference tournament begins. Colorado Mesa was well represented with three student-athletes and two of the major award winners.

Maverick head coach Taylor Wagner earned RMAC Coach of the Year for the eighth time in his tenure and third straight. Wagner has led the team to a 31-1 record and their third straight RMAC regular season crown. Wagner is now the all-time RMAC and Colorado Mesa leader in wins with 325 as he reached both those marks during the season.

Colorado Mesa senior Olivia Reed Thyne was named the RMAC Player of the Year for the third straight season becoming the second player in RMAC history (Diana Lopez, Regis) to accomplish the feat. Reed Thyne also earned All-RMAC First Team honors for the fourth straight season.

Reed Thyne is averaging 21.2 points and 11.1 rebounds this season and now has 60 double doubles in her career. She broke the RMAC and Colorado Mesa all-time scoring and rebounding records this season and now has 2,274 points and 1,329 rebounds in her career marking it the first time this has happened in RMAC history.

Redshirt sophomore Mason Rowland was named to the First Team after earning Second Team recognition in her freshman season. The Durango, Colo. native is averaging 17.7 points 6.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists this season. She has been in double figure scoring in 31 of the 32 games she has played in and had a season-high 27 points in the Mavericks win at South Dakota Mines.

Senior Mykaela Moore earned a well-deserved nod to the All-RMAC Second Team. Moore averaged 9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists on the season after playing in and starting all 32 games. She had the first 20-point game of her career against Colorado School of Mines back on December 13 and had another in the Mavericks 40-point win over Adams State.

The Mavericks will take on Black Hills State in the RMAC Tournament Semifinals at 5:00pm on Friday in Brownson Arena.
