COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University men's basketball player Ty Allred was selected to the first team while three others earned All-RMAC selections as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's released its All-Conference Teams, which were announced in the conference's post-season awards release on Thursday afternoon.
Allred repeats as a first team selection with this pick with him now being a two-time All-RMAC player and one-time preseason All-RMAC selection.
Joining Allred on the list is Clayton Jewell who was selected to the All-RMAC second team. The duo of Ben Henderson and Harvey White round out CMU's four picks with each of them being selected as Honorable Mention.
White was also a preseason All-RMAC pick prior to the start of this season as well.
Allred was voted to the first team after being one of the conference's top performers this season averaging 18.4 points per game while adding 7.4 rebounds. Each of those marks ranked in the top five of the conference.
From the field Allred owns an exact shooting percentage of 500 while going 41 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Allred scored in double figures in 25 of the Mavs' 29 games this season while collecting 13 20-point performances and three 30-point performances.
He also ranks in the top five of the RMAC for blocks with 34.
Jewell, a transfer from Oklahoma City University, was named to the second team after being another key player for the Mavs this season with the big man appearing in all 29 games and starting 22 of them.
He is averaging 11.1 points per game while grabbing 7.5 boards. He currently serves as the team's leading rebounder while joining Allred as another top five rebounding player in the entire conference.
Throughout the season Jewell collected seven double doubles to lead the team while scoring in double figures 17 times.
Garnering spots on the honorable mention squad are the duo of Ben Henderson and Harvey White with each of them being another pair of everyday starters for the team.
Henderson is averaging 10.6 points per game this season while playing over 30 minutes in 21 games. He has recorded two nine-assist performances while also scoring 20 points or more four times. He recorded a career-high 31 points against South Dakota Mines on Feb. 26.
White joins Henderson averaging 10.8 points per game and being the team's assists leader with 108 total. He's had six games with six or more assists while also owning two 20-point games himself. In the RMAC he ranks in the top 10 for both assists and assist to turnover ratio.
Black Hills State brought home two of the major awards with Cam Lowe winning the conference's player of the year and Head Coach Mike Thompson being the Coach of the Year. Fort Lewis' Stewart Erhart was the Defensive Player of the Year while Colorado School of Mines' Shelton Henton was the Freshman of the Year.
