GREENWOOD, Ind. – Colorado Mesa University men's basketball player Ben Henderson earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® honors this morning as announced by the organization.
In addition, Henderson was also selected to advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on April 14 following a vote of CSC (formerly known as CoSIDA/College Sports Information Directors of America) membership.
To qualify for the all-district team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 GPA and play in 90 percent and/or start 66 percent of their team's games in the current season. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk on the release.
Henderson earns this honor for the first time in his career while holding a 3.62 GPA and being an Exercise Science major.
He was selected as an All-RMAC Honorable Mention selection this season while playing in all 32 games and starting 30 of them. He finished the year averaging 10.9 points per game while recording 17 double figure scoring performances. Four of those performances were for 20-plus points as well.
He would add one double double while also having two nine assists efforts as he was a staple in the Mavs' starting five.
Henderson is the first Maverick to earn this honor in two years with Colorado Mesa last earning CSC Academic All-District® in 2024.
