GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team will hope to turn things around when they head on the road for weekend match-ups against CSU Pueblo and Fort Lewis, two teams the have dominated in recent years.
The Mavericks, 1-8 overall, and 0-2 in RMAC play have dropped four straight games, although those losses have come by a combined seven goals.
They will play at CSU Pueblo (4-5, 1-2 RMAC) on Friday at 6 p.m. before heading to Durango to face currently winless Fort Lewis (0-5, 0-3 RMAC) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Mavericks dropped another tight game, falling 16-13 at RMAC-leading Westminster in Salt Lake City on Saturday.
The Mavs trailed by as many as seven at 12-5 but scored six straight and eight of the ensuing nine goals to tie the game at 13 with 5:47 remaining.
However, the Griffins scored the final three goals to claim the win.
Seven different Mavericks scored, including
Sofia Chock and
Lilly Osterman, who both recorded hat tricks.
Sophie Astone led the Maverick defensive statistics with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. She also added three draw controls while
Avery Irlbeck tallied five.
Thirteen of the game's goals were scored woman up as the teams received a combined nine yellow and 14 green cards.
First-Timer
Freshman
Lilly Osterman recorded her first collegiate hat trick on Saturday scoring three goals against the Westminster Griffins. All three goals came in woman-up situations in a span of just three minutes and 16 seconds of the third quarter.
Those goals triggered what would be a 6-0 and 8-1 Maverick run that allowed CMU to tie game at 13 after trailing 12-5 earlier in the third quarter.
The Elk River, Minnesota native now has five goals to her credit this season.

Sofia Chock also scored her first three goals of the season in Saturday's game at Westminster. The effort was good for her second career hat trick, the first of which came on Apr. 26, 2024 against Dominican.

Carson Dickey scored her 18
th goal of the season in Saturday's game at Westminster and in the process moved into a tie for tenth on the Mavs' all-time points leader list with former teammate
Ali Bryant. Dickey now has 22 points this season and 119 in her career.
Dickey also has 89 career goals and ranks eighth in CMU history for career goals. With 11 more in the latter stages of her final career season, she would become just the seventh Maverick to reach the century mark.
Two for Number Twenty-Two

Kaylee Kittle, who wears uniform No. 22 has scored two goals in each of her last four games and in the process has moved into a tie for the team scoring lead with 18 goals alongside
Carson Dickey.
The Sacramento, California native has now scored in five straight games and in eight of the Mavs' nine this season. She has had two more or more goals seven times this year as the Mavs' most consistent scorer.
Averaging exactly 2.00 goals per game, Kittle and Dickey are tied for eighth in the RMAC for goals per game.
Coaching Corner
Ashley Delaney is in her third year as the Mavs' head coach and her seventh on the CMU staff after serving as an assistant for the four previous seasons from 2020-23.
The Mavs have gone 11-6 in both of Delaney's previous years as a head coach and posted a 33-19 combined record in her four years as an assistant under two previous head coaches.
She was named as the RMAC Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading the Mavs to a share of the RMAC Regular Season Championship and to hosting rights of the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history.
She also helped the Mavs win a share of the RMAC crown in 2023 when she was an assistant coach. The Mavericks are a combined 56-39 with her on the coaching staff and have played in all five RMAC Tournament Championship games with her on the staff.
Counting this year, Delaney now has a 23-20 record as the Mavs' head coach.
She and the Mavericks are 4-0 against CSU Pueblo in her time as a head coach and 9-0 in her time on the Maverick sideline.
The Mavs are also 4-0 against Fort Lewis with Delaney at the helm of the program and 10-0 with her on the sideline.
Delaney is 4-0 against CSU Pueblo's Taylor Ward when both have been the head coach.
Sunday's game will mark the first with Delaney coaching against FLC's Jojo Lutz as head coaches.
Like Delaney, Ward and Lutz were previous assistant coaches at their respective schools who received promotions.
Know Your Foes
CSU Pueblo
CSU Pueblo will enter Friday's game with a 4-5 overall record, their best 9-game start since 2021, when the then first-year ThunderWolves finished 4-9. They are 1-2 in RMAC play, just ahead of the Mavs.
Possession could be at a premium for CMU as the ThunderWolves lead the conference in both draw controls (126) and ground balls (234) while ranking second with 102 caused turnovers.
Offensively, six different Pack players are averaging more than a goal per game with Emily Doane leading the was as one of the RMAC's top offensive threats this season. She has 24 goals and leads the RMAC with 13 assists. She is also second in the RMAC with 37 offensive points and paces the conference with her 4.11 per game average.
Ainsley Jackson has also scored 20 goals to rank sixth in the RMAC while Sydney Gunnels has contributed another 17 goals. Jackson also leads the team with 32 draw controls.
Defensively, Dylan Retzloff has 19 caused turnovers and 20 ground balls while Maelynn Saucedo has 25 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
Breonna Mason and Hannah Duffee have split starts and time in net. Both have four complete games.
Mason has started five times and has posted a 13.53 goals against average and .400 save percentage in 292 minutes and 38 seconds of time. Duffee has started four games, logging just over 247 minutes. She has a better 11.64 goals against average but a slightly lower .368 save percentage.
Fort Lewis
The Skyhawks are still in search of their first win of the campaign and will enter a Friday game against RMAC-leading Westminster with an 0-5 overall record. They are currently 0-3 in RMAC play.
They have been outscored 83-23 this season with Diamond Velasco leading the offense with nine goals and 11 points. Three other Skyhawks in Piper Price, Kelcie Bolling and Jasmine Nguyen have scored three goals.
Defensively, Samantha Rodgers has been impressive. She has 24 caused turnovers and leads the RMAC per her 4.80-per game average. She and Sydney Tannaci, who has nine caused turnovers, co-lead the team with 19 ground balls.
Olivia Tilbury has played all 300 minutes of the Skyhawks' season in net. She has made 49 saves and has a .317 save percentage and 16.60 goals against average.
Series History
The Mavs are a perfect 19-0 in the all-time series against CSU Pueblo. They are 10-0 against the ThunderWolves in Pueblo.
The Mavs' last eight wins in the rivalry have been by 11 or more goals.
The Mavs won both games of last year's series 15, winning 17-2 at home on Mar. 28 before winning 20-5 on the road on Apr. 19 to clinch a share of last year's RMAC Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in last year's conference tournament.
The Mavs have also won 15 straight games against Fort Lewis since 2016. The Skyhawks had won the first 11 games of the rivalry between 2011-15.
The Mavs are 6-5 against the Skyhawks in Durango and have won six straight. They won by a 16-2 score on Apr. 17, 2025 of last season after winning by a 17-6 margin at home on Mar. 30.
RMAC Network News
All of the Mavs' home and RMAC road games, will be streamed on
the RMAC Network, which has moved to a pay-per-view model for the 2025-26 season. This season, all RMAC athletic events broadcast by its 15 full-member institutions and associate members will only be available for purchase via a single-game pass or a monthly or annual subscription. Revenue generated by the network will be redistributed to the league's membership to enhance their programs.
RMAC fans can purchase monthly and annual subscriptions that will provide them with access to all regular-season, championship, and archived broadcasts on the RMAC Network. A monthly subscription costs $25, and an annual subscription costs $130. Single-game passes are available for $10, which grants access to a single game for 24 hours.
Additionally, a discounted annual subscription price will be available to students, faculty, and staff of each member institution throughout the year. Purchasing options and pricing for individual RMAC Championships will be announced closer to each event.

After playing three straight and four of their last five games on the road, the Mavericks will return home for two games next week. They will renew their rivalry with Regis, currently ranked 17
th nationally, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in their April Fool's game.
