COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University's Oliva Reed Thyne was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Academic Player of the Year for the third straight year while she and teammate
Mason Rowland were both named to the First Team Academic All-RMAC Team, conference officials announced on Monday.
Reed Thyne topped the 10-member first team, selected by a vote of the league's athletic communications directors.
The exercise science major from Windsor, Colorado has a 3.92 GPA and has also been named as the RMAC's Player of the Year for her on-court play in each of the last three seasons.
She became the RMAC's all-time leading scorer and leading rebounder earlier this season and
will enter Monday's nights NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament Championship game with 2,398 career points and 1,388 career rebounds as the only player in RMAC history with more than 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
In 2025-26, Reed Thyne has set a CMU single-season scoring record with 802 points, the second highest total in RMAC history. Her 414 rebounds are also the second highest in CMU and RMAC history.
She leads the RMAC in scoring average (22.3), rebounding average (11.5) and field goal percentage (.625) to rank amongst the nation's top five in each. She also tops the RMAC with 56 blocked shots (1.6 per game).
Reed Thyne was also named as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association's South Central Region Player of the Year and was a First Team All-RMAC selection in all four of her seasons with the Mavs.
Rowland, a redshirt sophomore from Durango, Colorado, holds a 3.90 GPA and is majoring in accounting. She joined Reed Thyne on the D2CCA First Team All-South Central Region and First Team All-RMAC squads.
She ranks third in the RMAC for points (654), second for assists (137) and leads the RMAC with 78 3-poitners while ranking second in the conference for 3-point percentage (.368). She also sits third in the RMAC with her .841 free throw percentage and has had 35 double figure scoring efforts this season.
The Mavericks also had nine total selections to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll to co-lead the conference. To receive that honor, student-athletes to have a 3.30 or higher GPA and to be in at least their second year at the nominating institution.
The first team was selected from those who have a 3.50 or higher GPA.
