GUNNISON, Colo.— Sprinters Teo Casados and Joseph Randolph won Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference titles with record-setting times to lead the Colorado Mesa University men's track and field team to a strong third place finish at the conference meet on Saturday here at Western Colorado University's Mountaineer Field House.

Meanwhile, Randolph set a Mountaineer Field House record time of 21.45 seconds in the 200 after taking fourth in the 60 with a season-best matching mark of 6.82 seconds.

Casados' 60-meter time was a single hundredth of a second quicker than his former record time of 6.70 seconds set at CMU's season-opener in December.  He had also matched that time in the preliminary round of the RMAC Championships on Friday.

The redshirt senior now has four career RMAC titles but won his first indoor crown on Saturday.

Randolph matched his season-best in the 60 and then broke CMU Elijah Williams' former track record of 21.51 seconds in the 200 as the lone Maverick finalist in the 200.

The Mavs were not as lucky in the 60-meter hurdles as Solomon Griffen did not finish after qualifying first in Friday's preliminary round.  The 4x400-mete relay team also did not finish.

Elsewhere, Kyle Towne took ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.74 while Salpas ran in the following heat to take fourth.

In the high jump, Shea set a season-best with a clearance of 1.96 meters (6-5) to move in to the No. 10 spot of program history.  Grant Nemeth finished right behind, taking ninth with a clearance of 1.91 meters (6-3.25).  Benson White finished 11th at 1.86 meters (6-1.25).

With their times from earlier in the season, Randolph and Casados will earn NCAA Division II Championship selection in the 200 meters on Tuesday while Casados will have an outside chance of being selected in the 60 meters as he now ranks 21st on the season-long national performance list with his altitude-adjusted time of 6.73 seconds.  Griffen will also have an outside chance of selection in the 60-meter hurdles and currently ranks 20th in the country as of late Saturday night.
