GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— Coming off a nearly 2-week break from competitive action, the Colorado Mesa University women's golf team will resume the fall season on Monday and Tuesday at Nick Turner Invitational in Durango, Colorado.
Fort Lewis College is hosting the 6-team tournament, which will be contested over 36 holes at the Hillcrest Golf Club.
Single 18-hole rounds are planned for each day.

Last Time Out
The Mavericks finished tenth out of 14 teams at the Wasatch Invitational on Sept. 20-21 in South Jordan, Utah. The Mavs posted back-to-back rounds of 311 (+23) to finish with a 36-hole team score of 622 (+46).
Junior
Hunter Gledhill, playing just miles from her hometown of Herriman, Utah, led the Mavericks with an individual score of 149 (+5) to finish in a tie for 13
th out of 78 players. She had scores of 74 and 75 on the two days.
Hayden Hawley and
Libby Bourassa were the next highest finishing Mavericks, tying for 36
th with a final score of 157 (+13). They both posted scores of 78 on the first day and 79 on the second.

Who's Competing
Maverick Head Coach
Kori Satterfield has entered seven golfers into the tournament, five of whom will play for the team in addition to two individuals.
Hunter Gledhill will play in the No. 1 role while
Hayden Hawley will play in the No. 2 spot.
Libby Bourassa,
McKenzie Dolph and
Allison Sanger round out the team lineup, which sees Dolph moving into the top five after playing as the Mavs' individual in Utah.
Freshmen
Brooke Brekke and Lilly Hathaway will serve as the Mavs' individuals for the Nick Turner Invitational.
Hathaway, will be making her collegiate debut while the other six Mavericks have played in both of the Mavs' tournaments thus far.
The Competition
The field of six teams will feature five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference squads as well as New Mexico Junior College. Adams State, Colorado Christian and Westminster will join the Mavs and the host Skyhawks in representing the RMAC.
The Mavericks have a combined 3-2 head-to-head record against the other five teams at this tournament so far, finishing ahead of Adams State at both of their first two tournaments this season while also defeating Colorado Christian at the Wasatch Invitational. Fort Lewis and Westminster finished ahead of the Mavs at that event.
The Mavs have not played against New Mexico JC this season.
Tournament History
The tournament, which has been played in both Durango and in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Arroyo del Oso Golf Course in previous years, started in 2021 but was not played last year.
The Mavs finished eighth in both 2021 and 2022 and took ninth in 2023, years it was held in Albuquerque. The Mavs did not play in the 2024 edition that was contested in Durango.

Best Rounds
The Mavericks' back-to-back rounds of 311 at the Wasatch Invitational were their best of the young season. Mav players also combined for three of the four best individual rounds of the campaign to date.
Hunter Gledhill's first round of 74 was the best of her five this season while her and
McKenzie Dolph's second round scores of 75 are equal to the team's third best this season.
Hayden Hawley had the Mavs' season-best round, posting a 73 in the third round of the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational, CMU's opening tournament.
All-Around Improvement
Although it is early in the season, the Mavs' top three and all four returning players have season scoring averages that are better than their career averages to date.
Hunter Gledhill has four of the Mavs' top six rounds this season and is averaging a team-best 77.00 strokes per round, well under her 78.64 career scoring average.
Sophomore Hayden Halley has an even more pronounced improvement. She is averaging 78.00 strokes this season, helping lower her career average to 8.67.
Libby Bourassa also has had a big improvement, averaging 80.20 strokes this year, dropping her career average to 82.85.
McKenzie Dolph's single-season average of 84.20 is also lower than her career mark of 84.62.

The Mavericks will play in another tournament just a week later, heading to Rapid City, South Dakota and the Golf Club at Red Rocks for South Dakota Mines' Hardrocker Invitational. That event will be CMU's fourth of five fall season tournaments.
