COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its week four players of the week awards this morning with Colorado Mesa's Matteo Bonelli being honored as the conference's offensive player of the week.
Bonelli earns this award after dazzling offensively for the Mavericks this past week in which he registered just the sixth hat trick in program history. Bonelli scored three goals in the Mavs' 5-0 victory over Adams State, while also recording an assist for seven total points.
His seven offensive point effort was the second best in program history.
His recording of the three-goal game was also the first time since 2021 that a Maverick has achieved this feat.
Bonelli is the first Maverick to earn a player of the week award this season with the last time someone from Colorado Mesa was honored coming in week three of last season.
Earning the other two player of the week awards were the pair of Maddox Brown from UCCS for defensive player and Abdo Salem Abdullah for goalkeeper.
The Mavs head to the road this weekend as they open conference play in Southern Colorado at UCCS and CSU Pueblo.
