GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University track and field teams will welcome the addition of eight freshmen to the jumping disciplines who are part of the overall 2025 Maverick Cross Country/Track & Field recruiting class that will be introduced by event group by CMU Director of Cross Country/Track & Field
Travis Floeck in the coming days.
The jumping group includes five men and three women, including seven from Colorado and one from Utah. All eight were state championship qualifiers and three won state titles for their respective high schools that they recently graduated from.
At CMU, they will work with Maverick jumps coach
Hannah Meek, who guided her athletes to nine All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors in her first year with the Mavs.
"Coach Meek has put together a very talented class in the jumps," Floeck said.
"What I really like about this class is they are fantastic all-around athletes beyond the jumping events and have a tremendous amount of potential. This group has great character and a lot of enthusiasm for the sport," he continued.
