COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University junior
Justine Anderson was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year and was joined on the First Team RMAC All-Academic Team by senior teammates
Emme Rezoski and
Sydney Skinner.
The Mavericks also co-led the conference with 14 picks to the RMAC's Academic Honor Roll, who are listed below.
Anderson, a business administration major from Colorado Springs, who has a perfect 4.00 GPA, was one of just three repeat selections to the 12-member first team, which was selected by a vote of the RMAC's athletic communications directors. To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher GPA, be in their second year at the nominating institution and have used a season of eligibility.
To qualify for honor roll status, student-athletes must have a 3.3 or higher GPA and meet the other requirements.
Anderson's honor is the latest major award of her illustrious career. She led the Mavs in points (66) in 2025, the third highest total in the RMAC and helped CMU win a share of the RMAC Regular Season title for the second time in her career (2023). She was named to the First Team All-RMAC squad for the third straight time and also picked up all-Midwest Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) for the second straight year.
In 2024, Anderson was named as the RMAC Attacker of the Year and was named as a USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American. She also earned College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-America honors in the Women's At-Large Sports category last year.
With her senior season still to come, Anderson already ranks fourth in program history for career points (171) and fifth for goals (120).
Anderson is just the third Maverick to ever win the RMAC Academic Player of the Year and the first since Kenzie Blackwell in 2020. Olivia Hayden was the 2018 and 2019 winner.
Rezoski has been named to the First Team All-Academic squad for the first year and to the honor roll for the third straight season. She holds a 3.81 GPA and is majoring in mass communications. She finished her career ranked third in program history with 216 draw controls and was tied for second on this year's Mavericks squad with 61.
The Duvall, Washington native was named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team in 2023 and was an Honorable Mention All-RMAC pick last year. She was also named to the IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll in 2024.
Skinner, a biology major out of Woodland, California, has a 3.55 GPA. She was also picked as a First Team All-RMAC defender this year and like Rezoski, has been on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll in three straight years. She was also on the IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll in 2024 in her first year of eligibility for that award.
On the field, Skinner led the Mavericks with 22 caused turnovers, eighth most in the RMAC, and recorded 19 of those in the Mavs' ten RMAC games. She also had 25 groundballs and helped lead the Maverick defensive unit that ranked second in the conference for scoring defense (9.94).
