Hathaway snags final PBC/RMD Defensive Player of the Week honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University senior Caden Hathaway has been named as the Peach Belt Conference Rocky Mountain Division Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week it has been announced by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Hathaway, a first-time weekly honoree, is the fifth different Maverick to have earned the defensive honor a combined seven times this season.  The Mavs have won it in each of the last four weeks.  Two other Mavericks have also combined to win the offensive honor three times in 2025.

The Dallas, Texas native matched his season and career-high by recording five groundballs and also caused two turnovers in the Mavs' regular season finale against Westminster on Saturday.  He was one of six seniors to be recognized during pre-game Senior Day festivities.

The Mavs, currently ranked 20th in the USILA NCAA Division II poll, won the outright Rocky Mountain Division title and will host this week's post-season tournament at Community Hospital Unity Field.
The Mavs (10-3, 7-1 RMAC) will take on No. 4 seed Dominican in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. on Thursday night after No. 2 seed Concordia takes on No. 3 Westminster in the first semifinal at 4 p.m.

The winners will meet in Saturday evening's championship game at 5 p.m.
