COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University senior
Dillon Pless was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Men's Lacrosse Midfielder of the Year while leading ten Maverick players on the 2026 all-conference teams, announced by conference officials on Thursday afternoon.
Pless, who hails from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was one of four Mavericks on the first team all-conference squad alongside fellow midfielder
Carson Points, defender
Brady Porter and short stick defensive midfielder
Deuce Kirschke.
The Mavs also had five second team honorees in freshman goalkeeper
Boaz Brown, attackmen
Connor Jensen and
Ari Villano, midfielder
Erich Petersen and defender
Reed Roughton.
Dillon Pless' twin brother Ryan was an honorable mention selection from his long stick midfielder position.
Dillon Pless, who has now been named to the first team all-conference unit in each of the last three years, finished the regular season with 23 goals, second most on the team. He also had six man-up goals and three game-winning goals while firing a team-leading 81 shots, 48 of which have been on net. He also scooped up ten groundballs.
Points has also had a breakout junior season, registering 15 goals and 16 assists to rank fourth on the team with 31 offensive points. The Pearland, Texas native's assist total is the team's second best.
Meanwhile, Kirschke and Porter are also repeat first team all-conference selections.
Kirschke is a 3-time First Team All-RMAC honoree and earned
USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-America honors last season. The Lone Tree, Colorado native has 23 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and three goals this year.
Porter, a native of Parker, Colorado, has recorded 22 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers this season and has helped anchor the RMAC's top defense, which has given up just 8.43 goals per game this season.
Brown has also been a key part of that defensive prowess and has been the Mavs' most used goalie. The Escondido, California product, has started seven and played in nine games, recording a 9.96 goals against average and .550 save percentage as well as a 5-2 record.
Meanwhile, Jensen and Villano have helped lead the Maverick offense.
Jensen, a redshirt junior from Brentwood, Tennessee, also earned second team honors last season, and paces the Mavericks with 37 offensive points this year. He has 22 goals and is third on the team with 15 assists. Jensen has scored in all 12 of his appearances this season and 15 straight, dating back to the 2025 season.
Villano, who hails from Bend, Oregon, leads the Mavs with 26 goals, a new freshman program record. He has scored on 50.0 percent of his shots and ranks in the nation's top ten for shot percentage. He also has eight assists and 18 ground balls.
Petersen, a redshirt junior from Gypsum, Colorado, has scored 13 goals while adding 12 assists this season. He also has 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Roughton, a redshirt junior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, has also been a big part of the Mavericks' success. He has 21 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers to his credit and was named as the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Week on Mar. 30.
Ryan Pless, earned second team all-conference honorees in 2025 and has recorded 23 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. He also has scored two goals on both of his shots at the offensive end.
The Mavericks went 10-4 overall during the regular season and snagged second place in the RMAC standings with an 8-2 conference mark. They will take on No. 3 seed Concordia University Irvine in the second of two Friday RMAC Tournament semifinals on Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.
