SURPRISE, Ariz.— Three members of the Colorado Mesa University women's tennis team were recognized with Third Team All-Pacific West Conference honors, presented at Wednesday evening's conference championship tournament banquet after the Mavs won their first PacWest Tournament match in program history on Wednesday morning.
Makenna Livingston was recognized for singles while
Jade Brilhante and
Devyn Rodriguez earned the plaudits in doubles.
The awards were voted on by the conference's 17 head coaches.
Livingston, a senior from Huntington Beach, California has now been recognized twice in the last three years (2023) as the only Maverick woman to earn a pair of accolades since the Mavs joined the league as affiliate members in 2021.
Brilhante, a junior from Hilo, Hawai'i and Rodriguez, a sophomore from Chandler, Arizona are the first Maverick women's doubles duo to receive All-PacWest honors.
Livingston recently surpassed the 100 win mark for her career, including 50 in singles. She has played in the No. 1 and 2 spots throughout her career and has posted a 14-14 record this season, including a 12-12 mark in the top flight. She recorded a pair of wins over nationally-ranked foes this spring and was herself nationally ranked for much of the spring, reaching as high as high as No. 33 in the ITA NCAA Division II National Rankings.
As partners, Brilhante and Rodriguez are 17-11 overall, including 14-9 in duals this season. They played in the No. 1 spot throughout much of the season and went 13-8 at that flight. They have won their last five decisions.
