Reed Thyne selected to All-America team

Junior forward honored by Women's Basketball Coaches Association

ATLANTA — Olivia Reed Thyne was selected to the WBCA Division II All-America team for the second straight year on Thursday, the coaches association announced.

Reed Thyne made the honorable mention list, as she did after the 2023-24 season. CSU Pueblo's Alisha Little became only the fourth Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player in the Division II era to earn first-team honors, joining CMU's Kelsey Sigl (2013) and Sharaya Selsor (2014), and Nebraska-Kearney's Darcy Stracke (1999). Little was an honorable mention pick last season and in 2021-22.

Colorado Mesa's 6-foot junior forward is also nominated for All-America honors from the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association, which is voted on by sports communications directors at member institutions. That team will be announced next week.

Nala Williams of Cal State Dominguez Hills was selected the WBCA Player of the Year. Two other players from the South Central Region made the 10-player first team, Grace Foster of Lubbock Christian and Ashley Ingram of Texas Woman's.

The two-time RMAC Player of the Year and Academic Player of the Year, Reed Thyne led the Mavericks to the RMAC Championship for the second straight season and a spot in the NCAA South Central Region tournament. Colorado Mesa (25-6), won 18 straight games to open the 2025 portion of the schedule and finished the conference season 18-2.

Along the way, Reed Thyne, a three-time RMAC first-team performer, averaged 22.1 points and 10.9 rebounds, finishing second in the RMAC in both categories. She shot 57.1 percent from the field, which led all RMAC players and was eighth in the nation. Scoring in double figures in all but one game, Reed Thyne had 19 double-doubles (4th in nation) and broke the program record for single-game scoring (45) and single-season field goals made (279), which is second in all of Division II.

The Windsor High School product is No. 2 all-time in scoring at Colorado Mesa (1,596) and is No. 3 in rebounding (974) with one full season remaining. She is on pace to become only the third player in CMU history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, joining Tonya Stites (1,920 points/1,032 rebounds, 1990-94) and Pam DeCosta (1,333/1,012, 1982-86).
