COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Henry Scheck won both of his matches to reach the semifinals of the "A" singles draw to lead the Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team on Saturday here at the Colorado College Invitational.
 
Scheck claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win over Samuel Dilworth in the round of 16 before squeaking past Alejandro Jimenez of MSU Denver, 10-8 in the match tie-breaker after the two players had split the first two sets by identical 6-2 scores.  Scheck is slated to play CC's Aiden Little in a semifinal match on Sunday, when action in the various brackets will resume at 8 a.m.
 
Meanwhile, Maverick newcomer Romain Payan won his opening match by a 10-6 tie-barker margin over CC's Hudson Chris but was downed by the same tie-breaker score after splitting the first two sets of his quarterfinal match with Lluc Limongi of MSU Denver, 6-1.
 
Luke Burriesci and Jamison Pfingston also won their opening matches but were defeated in the quarterfinal round of the "B" singles draw.
 
In doubles, Scheck and William Leschig went 1-1 and reached the final of the "A" Backdraw.  Burriesci and Pfingston also went 1-1 in the "B" doubles draw.
