NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.— The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team and seven individual student-athletes were honored for their academic successes as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its' annual Academic Honor Squads and NCAA Division II Academic Honor Rolls on Wednesday.
The Maverick women received the team Academic Honor Squad award for the fourth straight year and eighth overall time. They were one of just two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference squads (Regis) to receive the honor, which required teams to have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
A total of 325 teams from NCAA Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA were recognized, including 66 Division II programs.
To qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll status, individual student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The Mavs' seven selections and their majors are listed below and include three four selections in
