Baseball lands 17 student-athletes on RMAC All-Academic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released their All-Academic Team for baseball on Wednesday (May 22) morning. Colorado Mesa was well represented with two student-athletes making the First Team and another 15 being named to the Honor Roll.
 
To qualify for the RMAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA to be eligible for First Team recognition while Honor Roll recipients need to obtain a 3.3 GPA. The student-athletes also need to have completed two semesters at their current institution and be using a year of eligibility. The First Team is then voted on by the sports information directors in the RMAC.
 
Rob Sharrar earned a spot on the First Team for the first time in his career. The senior earned his degree in business administration and maintained a 3.66 GPA during his career. The 2023 CSC Academic All-District recipient was named the RMAC Co-Player of the Year this season after batting .406 with 22 doubles, two triples, and 21 home runs. He finished the season amongst the national leaders in home runs, runs batted in, total bases, and hits.
 
TJ Rheem earned First Team recognition after having maintained a 4.0 in business administration course work. Rheem played in 31 games and made 26 starts while batting .368 with nine doubles and a home run. He had an 11-game hitting streak during the season and had a career-best game where he went 4-for-6 with a double, five runs scored, and two runs driven in against Adams State on May 3.
