KOHALA COAST, Hawaii – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team saved their best performance of the fall for their last tournament of the fall. The Mavericks fired a 18-over, 306 in their final round of the fall and finished with a fall season-best 611 to finish in a tie for seventh place at the Southwest Airlines HPU Shark Shootout at Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club North.
Colorado Mesa had one stroke worse than their round one score but played consistent golf going 305-306 in their final tournament of the fall. They moved up one slot on the leaderboard and tied Western Washington and finished three spots ahead of both host Hawaii Pacific and Sonoma State.
Cal State San Marcos won the team title with a 3-over, 579 for the tournament.
Senior
Brittlynn O'Dell shot the low round of the group on Saturday (Oct. 26) afternoon. O'Dell fired a 1-over, 73 with two birdies and three bogeys on the day. Her two-round total of 151 (78-73) placed her in a tie for 25
th on the individual leaderboard that featured a total of 75 golfers.
Payton Panzeri was the Mavericks highest finishing golfer as she placed in a tie for 13
th place with a 4-over, 148. Panzeri shot matching 74s in her two rounds with today's round featuring four birdies and six bogeys.
Cassidy Phelan finished in a tie for 29
th with an 8-over 152 (73-79) while
Hunter Gledhill finished in a tie for 54
th after shooting matching 80s in her two rounds.
Cal State San Marcos' Madison Murr shot a 6-under, 138 (67-71) to win the individual medalist honor.
