PUEBLO, Colo.— Hunter Gledhill and
Payton Panzeri carded rounds of 79 (+7) as the Colorado Mesa University Maverick women's golf team posted a team score of 325 (+37) to sit in 12
th place after the first day of the Southern Colorado Open here at Walking Stick Golf Course.
Gledhill and Panzeri are tied for 30
th in the individual standings while
Anju Ogi is in 38
th after posting a round of 80 (+8).
Libby Bourassa and
McKenzie Dolph had rounds of 87 (+15), one of which was counted toward the team score.
Mackenzie Goudreau also played her first round of the season as an individual, posting a 82 (+10) to stand in a 52
nd place.
Hayden Hawley and
Becca Washington also played as individuals and posted round of 84 (+12) and 90 (+18), respectively.
Gledhill recorded three of the Mavs' eight birdies throughout the day but started with a triple bogey on the 14
th hole, her first. Ogi also had two birdies and got off to a good start with a birdie on No. 14 as the 15 teams and 84 players had a shotgun start.
UT Dallas and tournament host CSU Pueblo are tied for the team lead at 295 (+7) entering Monday's second and final round. UT Dallas' Camilah Porras and CSU Pueblo's Lisa Ekberg are tied for the individual lead after carding even par rounds of 72.
