General
- Steak & Crab Fest Tickets are still available at www.cmumavericks.com/tickets. The event is on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 2-6 p.m. at Lincoln Park.
- The 2022 AVCA Small College Beach Championship National Championship Ring Ceremony will be on Saturday between the 2nd and 3rd sets of the indoor volleyball match.
- That match will also be the team's annual Swing for Life/Pink Match raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.

- Season tickets are also now available for basketball at the same site.
Football
- The Mavericks (2-2, 1-1 RMAC) claimed their first RMAC win of the season, holding Chadron State to just 123 total yards and three points in an 18-3 victory over the Eagles at Stocker Stadium.
- Jason Thome was named as the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week after making two interceptions, one of which was returned 55 yards for a touchdown.
- Aiden Taylor recorded 116 rushing yards, the first 100+ yard game of the season for any Maverick and the first of his CMU career.
- The Mavs will be at home once again this week, facing undefeated and fourth-ranked (AFCA Poll) Colorado School of Mines in the battle Nykios Cup at 1 p.m. at Stocker Stadium.
- Mines is 4-0 overall and 2-0 RMAC and will be the Mavs' nationally-ranked opponent of the season already.
Swimming & Diving
- The Mavericks begin their 2024-25 season this weekend hosting the annual Intermountain Shootout in the El Pomar, Natatorium.
- The 2-day event begins on Friday at 4 p.m. and resumes on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Swimming & diving events will be held concurrently.
- The Mavericks will welcome in a pair of Big 12 Conference foes in BYU and Utah. The CSU Pueblo women will also compete.
- Each day's competition will be scored separately under a double-dual format.
- The Mavericks have won the last six RMAC titles and finished second (women's) and fifth (men's) at last year's NCAA Division II National Championships.
Volleyball
- The Mavericks, who continue to sit 18th in the AVCA Coaches' Poll, split a pair of RMAC matches on the road last weekend, falling in four sets at No. 2 MSU Denver on Friday before bouncing back for a 3-set sweep of the Colorado Scholl of Mines on Saturday.
- CMU, now 9-3 overall and 3-1 in RMAC play, is on the road tonight (Tuesday) at Westminster.
- The Mavs then return home to face Western Colorado for the second time this season on Saturday at 5 p.m.
- Both of those matches are part of the RMAC's Regional Pod scheduling week but will not count in the conference standings.
- Sierra Hunt led the Maverick offensive attack with 23 kills last weekend while Sabrina VanDeList doled out 81 assists, including 44 in Saturday's 3-set sweep, when the Mavericks hit an impressive .366 as a team.
Women's Soccer
- The Mavericks (4-1-2 overall) won their first two conference games without conceding a goal, defeating New Mexico Highlands by a 6-0 score on Friday night before defeating Adams State 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
- Abby Fotheringham had two goals and two assists in the win over New Mexico Highlands. Sarah Dunn also had a goal and an assist in that win before Adessa Correa scored the only goal in Sunday's victory.
- The Mavericks did not give up a single shot on goal in either game as Keely Wieczorek recorded back-to-back shutouts without having to make a save.
- The Mavs have a single game this weekend, making the long trip to Spearfish, South Dakota for a Sunday morning (11 a.m.) conference encounter at Black Hills State.
- The Mavs moved up a spot to fifth in Tuesday's United Soccer Coaches South Central Regional poll. The national poll, which saw CMU receiving votes last week, will be released later today.
Men's Soccer
- The Mavericks dropped a pair of non-conference games against nationally-ranked RMAC opponents last week, falling 2-1 at then No. 5 UCCS last Thursday before dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 18 Fort Lewis in their home opener on Sunday.
- CMU is now 3-3-1 overall.
- The Mavs begin the RMAC slate this week, playing at Regis on Thursday night at 6 p.m. in Denver before facing South Dakota Mines on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Rapid City, South Dakota
- Joao Pedro Moraes scored for the Mavs in the 27th minute of the game at UCCS.
- Eleven different Mavericks have combined for CMU's 13 goals this season.
Tennis
- The Mavericks wrapped up their fall season, competing at last week's ITA West Regional Championships.
- William Leschig and Henry Scheck reached the semifinals of the main doubles draw while Emil Hultman reached the final of the men's singles consolation draw.
- Devyn Rodriguez won her opening singles match and doubles match with partner Jade Brilhante to lead the CMU women.
Triathlon
- The Mavericks finished sixth as the top Division II squad in Sunday's Battle in the Fort event, hosted by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas
- Shannon Feran led the Mavericks, finishing 36th overall. Freshman Mackenzie Mayer was the second Maverick finisher in 39th.
- CMU will next compete on Oct. 12 at the West National Qualifier, attempting to win a sixth straight regional crown.
Men's Golf
- The Mavericks tied for the best score but finished second on tie-breaking procedures at the Bishop Invitational last Thursday and Friday in Dupont, Washington. Eighteen teams were in attendance.
- Cole Beyer won the individual title by a wide 8-shot margin.
- The Mavs have continued their stay in Washington and are in fourth place after the first day of the Western Washington Invitational, which wraps up Tuesday.
- Beyer has continued his strong play and sits third in the individual standings at 7-under par through 36 holes.
- CMU will play again at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in Canyon, Texas next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 7-8)
Women's Golf
- The Mavericks were off last week but return to the course next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 7-8) at the Samuel Proal Invitational, hosted by CSU Pueblo.
