GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Olivia Reed stuffed the stat sheet last weekend for Colorado Mesa, and on Monday (Jan. 15) was voted the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Reed, who is second in the conference in rebounding, averaging 11.1 per game, had 18 boards, five steals and four blocked shots in the Mavericks' road split. She had nine rebounds against both Chadron State and Colorado Christian and blocked two shots in each game. She came up with three steals against Chadron State and two more against the Cougars.

The 6-foot sophomore forward from Windsor shot 69.2 percent from the field on the weekend. She finished with 28 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in three attempts, and had four assists against Chadron State. She scored 14 points the next night against Colorado Christian and was one rebound shy of recording double-doubles each night.

Reed, last year's RMAC freshman of the year who has started 44 consecutive games, was also the DPOW after the opening week of the season. She averages 17.4 points and 11.1 rebounds a game for the Mavericks (12-4, 6-3 RMAC), who host Black Hills State on Friday and South Dakota Mines on Saturday. Both games tip off at 5:30 p.m. at Brownson Arena.

CMU, which is in fourth place in the RMAC, is ranked No. 9 in the unofficial D2 College Sports Communicators South Central Region rankings, which were released Monday.
