Ten Mavs named to CSC Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field teams

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— Ten Colorado Mesa University student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 NCAA Division II Academic All-District ® Teams for Men's & Women's Cross Country/Track & Field as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly known as CoSIDA – College Sports Information Directors of America), which were announced Wednesday morning.

The Mavs' five selections on the men's side were Triston Charles, Zayden Davis, Becker Ell, Dayne Ortega and Justin Thompson on the men's side.  The women's selections Jordan Brockman, Jordan Burnett, Josie Coffey, Mica Jenrette and Heather Yackey.

In order to currently qualify for selection, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA, be a starter or important reserve and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions during at least one of the cross country or track and field seasons.  Additionally, they must have been at the nominating institution for one full calendar year.
