TEMECULA, Calif. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team completed their first round of the San Marcos Shootout on Monday (Mar. 27) evening at Temecula Creek Inn golf course. The field features three teams ranked among the top-50 in GolfStat rankings including No. 49 Colorado Mesa.
The Mavericks shot a 37-over, 325 as a team in their opening round which sandwiched them in 10
th place between a pair of RMAC schools in Westminster and UCCS. They are just two strokes behind the Griffins and four strokes behind Academy of Art in seventh place.
Simon Fraser leads the team leaderboard with a 12-over, 300 in their first round.
Brittlynn O'Dell led the Mavericks with a 4-over, 76 in her first round of action which put her in a tie for tenth on the individual leaderboard. O'Dell had three birdies matched with seven bogeys on her scorecard as she played the front nine to an even par 36.

Cassidy Phelan was the Mavericks number two golfer on the day as she finished with an 8-over, 80 in her first round for a tie for 30
th on the individual leaderboard.
Point Loma's Alli Kim, ranked No. 3 in the individual GolfStat rankings, shot an even-par, 72 to lead the individual field.
The second and final round will be played tomorrow morning.
