ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Led by
Cassidy Phelan's solid round of 1-over par 73, the Colorado Mesa University women's golf team closed out the fall season with a Tuesday team score of 311 (+23) and a tournament total of 625 (+49) en-route to a ninth place finish at the Nick Turner Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday here at the Arroyo del Oso Golf Course.
The Mavs' team score was equal to their second best in ten fall rounds
Phelan made four birdies in her second lap around the 6,077-yard, par 72 course and finished the 36-hole tournament, which began on Monday, in a tie for 15
th place in the individual standings with a 2-day total of 150 (+6). She and teammate
Brittlynn O'Dell had co-led the Mavs with scores of 77 on Monday and were tied for 20
th place.
Meanwhile,
Payton Panzeri carded a 78 and moved into a 34
th place tie with a 36-hole total of 157 (+13). Panzeri was tied for 38
th after posting a 79 on Monday. O'Dell posted an 81 on Tuesday and tied for 36
th at 158 (+14).
Myranda Kotlowski posted a 79 on Tuesday and finished two shots further back in 43
rd place at 160 (+16) while
Sadie Kelley joined O'Dell with an 81 on Tuesday. She tied for 48
th in the individual standings at 163 (+19).
CMU's
Crystle Querol was also competing as an individual and finished in a tie for 55
th at 165 (+21). She posted a round of 79 on Tuesday.
