GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's triathlon team had three members earn All-West Region honors from the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association, which officially announced the teams on Monday following Saturday's National Qualifying events in Springfield, Missouri and Huddleston, Virginia.
CMU led the Division II portion of the region in total selections as redshirt juniors
Shannon Feran and
Natalie Mitchell as well as sophomore
Nadine Klive led the Mavs to a fifth straight Division II regional title on Saturday at the West National Qualifier in Springfield, Missouri.
The top seven individual finishers from each NCAA Division I (I, II, III) at each regional were recognized.
Feran, who hails from Broomfield, Colorado, became the third Maverick to win an individual regional crown after taking second in 2022 and is now a 2-time all-region selection. Mitchell is also now a 2-time pick after finishing third amongst Division II finishers on Saturday. The Auckland, New Zealand native had placed fourth in 2022.
Klive, a native of Harsefeld, Germany took fourth on Saturday to earn her first career all-region honor. She had missed out on that honor by just one place after taking eighth in 2022.
Drury and Black Hills State had two honorees apiece while finishing second and third behind the Mavs in the regional team standings.
The Mavs now had 18 total CTCA All-Region selections since the program began in 2017.
