For the third time during the weekend, the Mavericks split matches with their opponent but this time they came out on top the unconventional way. Each team won three matches via the bonus point victory, but the Vikings were hit for an unsportsmanlike conduct following the conclusion of the 125-pound match and were deducted a team point.

The Mavericks had two huge wins that contributed in a big way to the team victory in the consolation round.

The first came at 125 pounds where returning all-American, but unranked,
Dawson Collins improved to 4-0 on the weekend after earning a 6-4 win in sudden victory over No. 5 ranked Jaxson Rohman. Collins was leading into the third but was hit for his second stalling call late in the third which sent the match into overtime.

The second came in the final match of the weekend and came from 285-pounder
Ruben Samuelson. The redshirt freshman had struggled in matches all weekend but came out on top in his final one as he lasted just 29 second in securing the pin and the dual match win.

Collin Metzgar (133) and
Ryan Wheeler (157) each earned major decision victories while
Kash Anderson (197) earned a decision victory in the tiebreaker round.
