CHANDLER, Ariz. – It was moving day on Monday (Apr. 18) at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships at Whirlwind Golf Club.
Colorado Mesa jumped up two slots in the team standings and are now in fourth place after a 13-over, 301 in the second round. Their 13-over was the third best team total of the day and is the best team total of the year for the program.
The Mavericks are just three strokes behind Regis for third place with No. 37 Colorado Christian and UCCS solidly in the top two positions of the field.
Myranda Kotlowski led the Mavericks in round two with a 2-over, 74 and now sits at 11-over, 155 for the tournament and a tie for 11
th place on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore had three bogeys and a birdie in the best round of her career by five strokes. Her birdie came on the par-3, 164-yard No. 12 hole.
Cassidy Phelan had the second-best finish of the round with a 3-over, 75. Phelan is the lone player in the field with an eagle in either round as she had an eagle three on the par-5, 461-yard No. 15 hole. The freshman is in a tie for 17
th place at 12-over, 156.
Junior
Elly Walters is in a tie for eighth on the individual leaderboard with a 7-over, 151 through two rounds. Walters had a 4-over, 76 in today's round with three birdies, three bogeys and two doubles.
UCCS' Julia Baroth took over as the individual leader as she carded a 3-under, 69 in today's round after a 1-under, 71 yesterday.
Tomorrow will mark the third and final round of the tournament and will begin tomorrow morning.
