GREENSBORO, N.C.— The 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships are underway here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks were represented in five of the six events, which had preliminary heats on Wednesday morning. Here is a brief update on their performances. A full recap will be posted on Wednesday night following the finals session, which begins at 6 p.m. EST (4 p.m. Mountain).

Women's 200 Individual Medley
Lily Borgenheimer, the No. 1 seed in the event with a school-record time of 1:59.20, safely reached the championship final placing seventh amongst 40 swimmers in the preliminary heats. She finished in 2:01.71.
Teammate
Davy Brown finished 19
th in 2:03.94.
Men's 200 Individual Medley
Ben Sampson led a group of four Mavericks, finishing the preliminaries in 1:47.68, very close to his seed time of 1:47.65. He placed 16
th and will swim in the evening consolation final.
Matt Barrett placed 26
th in 1:49.46 while
Mahmoud Elgayar posted a season-best time of 1:49.75 to finish 29
th.
Matheus Laperriere finished 33
rd in 1:50.00.
Men's 50 Free
Freshman
Kuba Kiszczak set a season-best time of 20.50 seconds and finished 40
th in the preliminary round.
Lane Austin was 41
st in 20.54. Kiszczak now ranks ninth in program-history with his morning time.
Women's 1000 Free
Amelia Kinnard will swim with the top-8 seeds during the evening session in the timed-final event. She is the No. 5 seed with a school-record time of 10:04.53, set en-route to winning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title. The top time from the morning preliminary session was 10:10.40.
Men's 1000 Free
Redshirt freshman
Gavin Anderson led three NCAA Championship debutants, posting a time of 9:25.22 to stand in 16
th place after the morning preliminary session. That time is the fastest actual time of his career but was just off his altitude-adjusted seed time of 9:15.00.
Dejan Urbanek posted a time of 9:33.93 and is in 23
rd place while
Jacob Troescher posted a time of 9:38.48, currently good for 25
th place.
The top eight seeds will swim in the evening finals session and their times will be compared with the earlier swims to determine final placements.
Men's 1-meter Diving
Three Mavericks will be amongst the 18 qualifiers out of Tuesday's pre-championship qualification meet.
Isaiah Cheeks,
Tanner Belliston and
Noah Luna will all contest 11 dives, beginning at 2 p.m. EST (Noon Mountain). The top eight will advance to the finals session, where they will repeat their six optional dives. The ninth through 16
th place finishers out of the preliminaries will score team points and earn Second Team CSCAA All-America honors but will not compete during the evening session. Live diving results can be found on

Evening Representation
The evening finals session will begin at 6 p.m. EST (4 p.m. Mountain). Here are the list of Mavericks who will compete:
Event #1- Women's 200 Medley Relay – The Mavericks are seeded 12
th with a time of 1:42.47. Twenty teams are entered.
Event #2- Men's 200 Medley Relay- The Mavericks are seeded sixth with a time of 1:27.04. Nineteen teams are entered.
Event #3- Women's 200 IM-
Lily Borgenheimer will swim in the championship final, possibly after swimming the breaststroke leg on the 200 Medley relay team.
Event #4- Men's 200 IM-
Ben Sampson will swim in the consolation final.
Event #9- Men's 1m Diving- If any of the Mavericks finish in the top eight of the afternoon preliminaries, they will contest six dives during the evening session, with their compulsory dive scores from the afternoon carrying forward.
Event #10- Women's 200 Free Relay- The Mavericks are seeded 16
th out of 19 teams with a time of 1:34.03
Event #11- Men's 200 Free Relay- The Mavericks are seeded tenth out of 23 teams with a time of 1:20.05.
