Rienks earns second Academic All-America Honor

AUSTIN, Texas – Colorado Mesa senior standout tight end Dagan Rienks was named to the 2022 Academic All-America Team as selected by College Sports Communicators from across the country on Tuesday (Dec. 20) morning.
 
Rienks joined nine others as repeat selections to the team as he holds a 3.79 grade point average and just last week earned his degree in exercise science.
 
The D2CCA All-Super Region 4 and first team All-RMAC selection had 27 catches for 407 yards during his senior campaign and finished his career with 76 catches for 1,034 yards and eight touchdowns.
 
During the 2022 season, the Paonia, Colo. native threw one pass that went for a 16yrad touchdown and returned one kick that went for a 43-yard touchdown in the season finale against New Mexico Highlands.
 
Kentucky's Will Levis, Colorado School of Mines' John Matocha, and Ripon College Cormac Madigan were selected as Academic All-America Team Member of the Year.
