South Jordan, Utah – After a brief weather delay, the Colorado Mesa women's golf team improved on their previous round score to finish fifth at the Westminster Wasatch Invite. Collectively, the team shot 25-over for a 313 second round score.
RMAC foe Colorado Christian put together a 299 score in the second round, 11-over to overtake Biola who finished second at 21-over, 309 for the day.
Brandy McClain led the Maverick contingent throughout day two, finishing 6-over a for a 78. After opening with a pair of pars, with a few double-bogeys and pair of bogeys she got back on track with birdies on No. 8 and No. 11 on the way to tie for 15
th.
Elly Walters followed just two spots behind, improving her first-round score by five strokes for team best 76. Walters had a couple of birdies, and a series of bogeys to finish 4-over.
Myranda Kotlowski finished 8-over, to tie for 21
st.
Brittlynn O'Dell and
Cassidy Phelan were tied for 26
th and 29
th respectively.
Crystle Querol who entered as an individual matching Kotlowski's score for a 21
st place finish.
The team will take the next week off in preparation of the Nick Turner Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Del Oso Golf Course.
