ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team closed out the fall season with the final round of the Nick Turner Invitational at Arroyo del Oso Golf Course. The Mavericks finished one spot lower then where they started the round in eighth place.
The Mavericks shot a 26-over, 314 in their round today, seven strokes worse than yesterday's 307 team score. They were the second highest finishing RMAC school behind second place UCCS and held off a late run by ninth place CSU Pueblo.
Arkansas-Fort Smith won the team title with a 12-over, 300 in their final round and 20-over, 596 for the tournament.
Crystle Querol had a solid round two and finished in 18
th place on the overall leaderboard. Querol shot a 4-over, 76 with five bogeys and a birdie on the par-4, No. 2. She finished 8-over for the tournament.
Freshman
Cassidy Phelan finished the tournament with a 10-over, 154 to finish in a tie for 25
th. Like her teammate she shot a 4-over, 76 in today's final round.
Midwestern State's Beatrice Perucchini won the individual medalist title with a 2-under, 142 for the tournament.
