PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team concluded the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational at Pueblo Country Club. The Mavericks were locked in a see-saw battle with Westminster for a better part of the day but had to settle for second place when the dust settled.
The Mavericks shot 313 in their second and final round on Tuesday, three shots behind yesterday's 310. They fell to the Griffins by two strokes and were nine strokes ahead of third place Colorado Christian.
Colorado Mesa has now finished in the top five as a team in every tournament they have played in this fall with one to go.
Senior
Hannah More finished in third place on the overall leaderboard after firing an even-par, 72 on the day and finished the tournament with a two-round total of 149. More had four birdies in the round and finished the tournament with seven which was second best in the tournament. She was tied for first in par-4 scoring, finishing 1-over at 4.06.
Senior
Randi Kim finished in a tie for eighth place after shooting a 6-over, 78. Her two-round total was 155 and finished in third for most pars made in the tournament with 21.
Colorado Mesa will travel to their final tournament of the fall next week when they go to Albuquerque for the Skyhawk Fall Women's Intercollegiate.
