GENEVA, Ohio— Colorado Mesa University junior diver
Ammar Hassan tallied a season-best 373.45 points to win for the second straight day while leading a 1-2 Maverick sweep on the 3-meter board here at the Atlantic 10 Classic. Senior teammate
Noah Macomber also turned in an NCAA Division II Championship qualifying mark and season-best of 330.20 points on his six dives to finish second in the 10-man field, which included seven Division I divers.
Chandler Livingston finished tenth with 165.55 points.
Meanwhile,
Brittany Dixon took third in a field of 14 women with 221.70 points on the 1-meter board.
"Ammar and Noah dove solid today," Maverick Diving Coach
Logan Pearsall said. "We were really happy with four out of the six rounds of dives for them. Brittany (Dixon) really only missed one dive but the confidence built at this meet will help her at the NCAA championship."
The four Mavericks, who were all-Americans in 2018-19, used the 2-day meet to scout for the NCAA Division II Championships, which will be held here at the SPIRE Institute-Aquatic Center in March.
CMU's swimming and diving programs are now off until Nov. 20, when they will host the A3 Performance Invite at their El Pomar Natatorium.
