SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team dropped a thriller on Thursday (Mar. 15) 5-4 to San Diego Christian at Lake Murray Tennis Center. The Mavericks' record drops to 4-14 on the season.
The Mavericks jumped out to the lead following the doubles competition after winning two of the three matches.
Nick Farmen and Will Agritelley opened doubles play with a commanding 8-2 decision at No. 1's over Meliuk and Tidimane.
Lucas Martin and
Alain De La Bastide earned a win at No. 2 doubles, defeating Bell and Ziella 9-7 to take the 2-1 lead into singles matches.
Colorado Mesa dropped four of the singles matches and the match.
De La Bastide picked up a 6-3, 7-6 (5) straight set winner at No. 5 singles over San Diego Christian's Anderegg.
Daniel Ness had the other singles win for the Mavericks at No. 6. Ness was a 6-0, 6-4 straight set winner over SDCC's Bell.
The Mavericks will close out their spring break trip on Saturday with a match against Biola in La Mirada, Calif. at the Biola University Tennis Center
