COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released their all-conference football team earlier this week. Colorado Mesa had eight student athletes named to the team with three going on the first team, one on the second team and four named honorable mention.
Making an appearance on the first team is junior wide receiver
Peter Anderson. Anderson broke the single season Colorado Mesa record for both receptions (67) and receiving yards (1,344) that was set back in 2005 by Drew Bohanan. Anderson also had a streak of eight games with over 100-yards receiving in a game.
Senior defensive back
Antonio Clark was named to the first team for the first time in his career. Clark ranks third nationally and second in the region for passes defended and passes defended per game with 24 total and 2.2 per game. The Denver native had four interceptions and returned one for a touchdown this season.
Junior transfer
Damar'ren Mitchell was named to the first team in his first season with the Mavericks. The Louisiana-Lafayette transfer finished the season with 64 tackles and five interceptions. Mitchell had three interceptions against Black Hills State on October 20.
Christian Leui was named second team All-RMAC after anchoring the Mavericks young offensive line. Leui helped the Mavericks to an average of 209.8 yards rushing per game and an average of 485.2 yards of total offense per game.
Tanner Quick,
Chance Drake,
Tom Saager and
Lucas Ruiz-Diaz were named honorable mention All-RMAC. It is the third time Saager has been named to the All-RMAC team while Quick was an All-RMAC selection a year ago.
