GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa and West Texas A&M have announced a four-year football schedule agreement that begins in 2028 as announced on Monday, May 18.
"We're excited to announce this four-year series with West Texas A&M. These are exactly the kinds of quality matchups that generate energy for our student-athletes, campuses, and supporters," Director of Athletics
Rob Courtney said. "We appreciate Doug Lipinski and their administration for their collaboration in making this happen, and we look forward to a competitive series."
The two programs have met twice before once coming in 2006 and the other in 2008 with both resulting in losses by Colorado Mesa.

Colorado Mesa is coming off a 6-5 campaign with key wins over Eastern New Mexico, Colorado School of Mines, and Black Hills State. Head Coach
Miles Kochevar is entering his fifth season at the helm and has a 23-20 overall record.
Coach K's is no stranger to the Buffs as one of his previous stop's during his coaching journey came at West Texas A&M from 2016-18 where he served as the defensive coordinator.
The Buffs are headed by Josh Lynn who led the team to an 8-4 record on the season and included a 28-27 win over Arkansas Tech in the Heritage Bowl. The 8-4 record was the best for WT since 2021and they had the most Lone Star Conference victories (7) since 2012.
