GOODYEAR, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team came away with a 13^th place finish at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club.
 
The Mavericks shot a 316 in their opening round and backed that up with a 309. They finished four strokes behind CSU-Pueblo, who finished in 12^th place, and five strokes behind ninth place Point Loma.
 
Cal Baptist won the team title with a 1-over, 577.
 
Sophomore Ashlynn Kirschner paced the Mavericks with a 9-over, 153 to finish in a tie for 33^rd in the event. She shot a final round 78 after opening the tournament with a 3-over, 75 on Monday, where she carded 15 pars and three bogeys.
 
Senior Taylor Walters was Colorado Mesa's number two golfer 12-over, 156 that put her in a tie for 48^th.
 
St. Edward's Johany Rivera won the individual medalist honors with a 3-under, 141.
 
Colorado Mesa will host the Maverick Spring Invitational next week at The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa on Monday and Tuesday.
