COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team defeated Sonoma State 8-1 Friday (March 31). 

The Mavericks opened with a sweep of the three doubles matches. Cody Freischlag and Nicholas Farmen won 8-3, and Oliver Lindqvist and William Argitelley won 8-2 at No. 2. Lucas Martin and Alain De La Bastide won 8-6 at No. 3. 

Colorado Mesa needed three sets to win at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Cody Freischlag won 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 at No. 1, and Max Lindqvist won 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 at No. 2. 

Nicholas Farmen won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3. 

Oliver Lindqvist won in three (7-6 (5), 4-6, 10-6) at No. 5. 

Alain De La Bastide earned the final point for CMU with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6. 

Colorado Mesa (8-10) will play St. Mary's (Texas) in Colorado Springs, Colo. Saturday (April 1).
