Mavs to take on UCCS in Semifinals

COACHING
Head coach Taylor Wagner is in his fifth season with Colorado Mesa. He has amassed a 122-26 record and has won three RMAC Championships during his tenure. In his time, the Mavericks are 67-5 when playing at home in Brownson Arena.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
Colorado Mesa moved up one spot in the NCAA Regional Rankings to No. 9 this week (Tuesday's games not factored in). CSU-Pueblo remained in the top spot with Regis moving up to No. 5 and UCCS to No. 6.

SCOUTING UCCS
The Mavericks defeated UCCS back on January 21, 80-63 in Brownson Arena. But, UCCS still features arguably the best player in the RMAC in Brittany Hernandez (16.1 ppg, 8.0 rpg). The Mountain Lions averaged 70.2 points per game this season and allowed 62.2 a night.

SMART KID
Sophomore Nicole Archambeau was named the RMAC Summit Award winner this week. She has the highest GPA (4.0) at the RMAC Shootout. Nicole has started 22 games this year and averages 5.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

RMAC SHOOTOUT
The Mavericks advanced to the Final Four of the RMAC Shootout for the fourth time in five seasons. They will take on third-seeded UCCS in the semifinal while top-seeded CSU-Pueblo takes on fourth-seeded Regis in the other semifinal.

UP NEXT
If Colorado Mesa wins they will take on either CSU-Pueblo or Regis in the RMAC Shootout Championship on Saturday. If they lose, they will await Sunday's NCAA Selection Show to find out if they have done enough to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Regional.
