Head coach
Taylor Wagner is in his fifth season with Colorado Mesa. He has amassed a 121-26 record and has won three RMAC Championships during his tenure. In his time, the Mavericks are 66-5 when playing at home in Brownson Arena.
ALL-RMAC SELECTIONS
Colorado Mesa had three student-athletes named to the All-RMAC Team.
Bryanna Adams earned her second straight First Team nod while
Erin Reichle was named to the second team, her second All-RMAC selection.
Ma'ata Epenisa was a honorable mention selection.
VS. RANKED TEAMS
The Mavericks defeated fifth-ranked CSU-Pueblo 91-56 in the final game of the regular season. The last time Colorado Mesa defeated a ranked opponent was March 18, 2013 when they defeated #25 Midwestern State in the South Central Region Championship game.
DEFENSE
Colorado Mesa limited the RMAC's top scoring offense to a season-low 56 points and season-low 34 percent shooting from the field. The Mavericks finished tops in the conference in scoring margin +12.8 at an average score of 72-59.
RMAC SHOOTOUT
The Mavericks earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament with the win on Saturday. Top-seeded CSU-Pueblo takes on Soouth Dakota Mines, No. 3 seed UCCS hosts MSU Denver and Regis and Fort Lewis faceoff in the other quarterfinal matchups.
UP NEXT
The Mavericks will play in the RMAC semifinals at a site yet to be determined. If the Mavericks are fortunate enough to win and top-seeded CSU-Pueblo falters, Colorado Mesa would host the RMAC Shootout. If Colorado Mesa losses, their season would end.
