GOLDEN, COLO. – The Colorado Mesa University indoor track and field teams broke three school records and earned three NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying marks at the Colorado Mines Div. II Invite Jan. 27-28.
D'Angelo Foster won the heptathlon and broke the school record and earned a provisional qualifying score of 5,036. He broke the record set by
Cameron Morley by over 500 points. His best event was the 60-hurdles where he scored 888 points, followed by the 60 where he scored 830 points.
Nolan Ellis broke his own school record in the pole vault by nearly a foot to finish second with a provisional qualifying mark of 16-3.25.
Trevor Jensen improved on his school record in the shot put by nearly a foot with a throw of 51-4.5 to finish third. He also finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 56-5.75 which was also a provisional qualifying mark.
Vernon Jackson placed fourth in the long jump (22-11.75), and
Ethen Besier finished sixth in the heptathlon (4,279 points).
Mekayla Winchester led the women with a pair of third place finishes. She ran a personal-best time of 8.97 in the 60-hurdles and 7.93 in the 60.
Erika White placed sixth in the pentathlon with a score of 2,869 points.
Alexia Chapman ran a personal-best time of 10:32.67 to place sixth in the 3,000. She also ran the anchor of the distance medley relay which finished sixth in a time of 13:01.24.

The men's distance medley relay of Nate Oglesby,
Marc Garcia,
Michael Fera and
Makoto Watanabe finished sixth in a time of 10:52.09.
The men finished sixth of 10 teams with 44 points, and the women placed eighth of 10 teams with 22 points.
Colorado Mesa will compete at the Western State Alumni Invite Feb. 4
th.
